Shannon Charney

Director of Operations

Shannon joined Archway in 2023 as the Director of Operations where she currently has strategic and operational accountability for multiple departments inclusive of People & Culture, IT, Philanthropy, Communication and Marketing, and Central Support Services.

With a wealth of knowledge from over 25 years of working in government, academia, healthcare, non-profit, and energy sectors, she brings significant experience from many facets of complex operations and service-oriented environments includes strategic planning, financial analysis, donor development, conflict resolution, governance, and risk management.

In previous leadership roles, Shannon has led large and diverse teams, and managed complex budgets, systems, initiatives and emergency responses. Encompassing a comprehensive history of experience in administration and operations, she is well-versed in the spheres of operations, human resources, IT, policy & compliance, event planning, safety & emergency management, and business continuity. 

Shannon enjoys serving her community through volunteer work in crisis management, animal care, youth-at-risk, community development and the Arts. Over the past decades she has contributed significant time and leadership to groups such as the Coastal Jazz & Blues Society, Vancouver Fringe Festival, Yardbird Suite, the Edmonton Food Bank, animal sanctuaries, hospice, and youth emergency shelters. She is also currently part of the Abbotsford Amateur Radio Emergency Services Society.

Shannon is a member of the Foundation of Administrative Justice and a graduate of the Canadian Risk Management Program. This is augmented by additional post-graduate professional certifications in Infection & Prevention Control, Business Continuity and a BSc.
