Beth Watters

Board Member

Dr. Watters is an assistant professor of social work and human services at the University of the Fraser Valley. She received a PhD in social work and an MSW degree at Wilfrid Laurier University, and a BSc at York University, in Ontario. Beth’s research interests relate to poverty, precarious employment, and health inequities, with particular attention to the intersection of race, gender, class, and immigrant status.

Her research and teaching practice is informed by experience in the public and non-profit sectors, including work in health promotion, diversity services, and employment services, as well as past volunteerism with literacy and recreation programs serving youth, newcomers, and people with diverse abilities.

Beth is passionate about social justice and looks forward to making a positive contribution to the community through service on Archway’s Board of Directors.
