Jasmit Singh Phulka

Jasmit Singh Phulka is a Canadian freestyle wrestler from Abbotsford, BC. Notably, he clinched gold at the 2010 Youth Commonwealth Championships, also becoming the first Canadian to earn the Outstanding Youth Wrestler Award.

Jasmit’s career highlights include his 2018 debut at the Senior World Wrestling Championships, marking the beginning of his remarkable trajectory. Jasmit has been representing Canada for over 15 years now.

Outside the wrestling arena, Jasmit is passionately involved in community initiatives. He mentors at-risk South Asian youth, volunteers at Canucks Place Children’s Hospice and the Salvation Army, and extends support during critical times like floods and the COVID-19 pandemic.

His core values of diligence, integrity, and sacrifice define his approach to both wrestling and life. Jasmit’s impact is shown through his engagement with youth, through speaking engagements where he advocates for the significance of dedication and hard work. Notably, his annual toy drive in collaboration with Canucks Place and BC Children’s Hospital has brought in over $65,000, reflecting his unwavering commitment to making a positive difference.
