Job Summary

The Administrative Assistant provides reception services and administrative support for the agency. The Administrative Assistant will bring a high level of flexibility and enthusiasm to a position containing a wide variety of tasks and challenges.  As well, the Administrative Assistant will demonstrate a level of experience that will allow them to act with a high degree of tact in dealing with the public, staff, and community partners.  The Administrative Assistant will need to be able to deal effectively, pleasantly, and calmly under pressure and in emergency situations.  The ability to handle cash will also be required.  The Administrative Assistant will value all people and their diversity and will demonstrate this in providing service in a timely, courteous, and friendly manner.  Further, the Administrative Assistant will maintain harmonious working relationships with all personnel and will display a non-adversarial, non-confrontational, and cooperative approach in the completion of all tasks and in providing front-line Reception services.

Your Role:

Archway’s Administrative Assistant with Central Support contributes by:

  • Greeting clients and directing them to the appropriate people or program.
  • Providing information about our 90+ programs and organizations in the community.
  • Processing incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, e-mails, deliveries, and other documents.
  • Creating photo ID tags for staff, contractors, volunteers, and practicum students.
  • Providing administrative support for a wide variety of tasks and challenges.

This position is a great fit for someone who has experience in administration, strong communication skills, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to remain calm and respectful in heightened or crisis situations.

Getting an Interview–you will be considered if you have:

  • High school graduation, GED, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Experience in administration, customer service or human services.

The Job Requires you to have:

  • Strong verbal, written, and active listening skills; ability to communicate respectfully and effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences, and with a variety of abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and respectful in heightened or crisis situations.
  • Accurate typing skills; able to type at least 50 words per minute.
  • Strong knowledge of Office 365 and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with office machines including printers, photocopiers, fax machines, and postage machines.
  • Willingness to learn various types of software and attend training seminars as requested.
  • A satisfactory criminal records check is a condition of employment.
