Job Summary
The Climate Response and Resiliency Coordinator (CRRC) will leverage and utilize their passion for helping others during post-disaster recovery and build relationships with community groups to identify concrete deliverables in responding to disaster recovery efforts. This work includes, but is not limited to, providing recovery services post disaster, planning considerations for community recovery, identifying people and projects requiring recovery assistance, and providing guidance for priority actions during recovery phases.

Your Role:
Archway’s Climate Response and Resiliency Coordinator with the Disaster Resiliency Program contributes by:
- Conducting surveys and evaluations on Mental Health and Psychosocial support training needs in the community and with community partners as part of the Flood Resiliency Program Resilient Roots Project.
- Identifying and organizing training courses as per project timelines and deliverables.
- Conducting community outreach in areas that were impacted by the floods in 2021.
- Engaging with internal program teams to develop social media content on climate anxiety, mental health and emergency preparedness.
- Creating a disaster recovery guide and strategy for action to help people affected by disasters, in partnership with the City of Abbotsford and other community partners.
- Engaging with community partners for conducting info sessions and workshops on extreme heat preparedness.
- Engaging with community partners and volunteers and developing outreach strategies for emergency preparedness in extreme heat conditions and building resiliency.
This position is a great fit for someone who understands how climate affects our lives, and how we need to be prepared for extreme weather events and post disaster impact on members of the community who may be disproportionately impacted. This position fits someone who enjoys engaging with communities to understand community needs and develop strategies on building resiliency in the community.
Our Offer
- Wage: $25.00 per hour
- A full-time position at 35 hours per week, availability Mondays to Fridays, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Some weekends or evenings may be required.
- Temporary until March 31, 2026 (possibility of extension).

Getting an Interview–you will be considered if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree or graduate diploma in social services, disaster and emergency management, public health, psychology, counselling, education, environmental studies, or another relevant discipline, OR an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience in relationship building with an ability to connect with individuals, community partners, and clients.
- Experience in conducting outreach to people affected by disasters is an asset.
- Experience conducting workshops and information sessions to community members is an asset.
- Experience analyzing survey results and identifying priorities is an asset.
The Job Requires you to have:
- Sensitivity to and knowledge of disaster management and environmental issues.
- Good organization and time management skills.
- Well-developed presentation and facilitation skills; able to engage an audience and facilitate productive conversations.
- Strong verbal, written, and active listening skills; able to communicate respectfully and effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences, and with a variety of abilities and language levels.
- Ability to work with people in difficult situations.
- Competency in Office 365 and Microsoft Office Suite; ability to use social media platforms, and virtual meeting networks including Microsoft Teams, and Zoom.
- Ability to work effectively with program staff, volunteers, community agencies and groups.
- A valid BC Driver’s License and satisfactory driver’s abstract is a condition of employment.
- Access to a personal, reliable vehicle for program-related driving.
- A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is a condition of employment.
