The Counsellor works with a diverse client group, delivering meaningful and impactful counselling services, with a strong focus on short-term support for individuals experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, anger, and grief. In this dynamic role, you will guide clients through intake and assessment, develop individualized service plans, and provide ongoing one-to-one counselling that fosters resilience, healing, and personal growth. You will also connect clients with relevant community resources and play a key role in supporting them to navigate trauma and achieve their goals in a safe, compassionate, and empowering environment.
Your Role:
Archway’s Counsellor with the Montrose Trauma and Wellness contributes by:
- Provides one-on-one, clinical interventions, in person or virtually, that may include psychoeducation, crisis support, and trauma counselling as is appropriate for the client(s).
- Conducts phone screening and intake appointments both virtually and in person
- Gathers information about the client, conducts assessments, identifies areas of concern. develops interpretive summaries and consults with clients to create individualized service plans.
This position is a great fit for a qualified registered counsellor who has strong interpersonal skills, an ability to work with diverse populations, strong organizational skills and computer skills and a trauma informed approach.
Our Offer
- Wage: $42.67 per hour
- A part-time position at 26.5 hours per week, availability Mondays to Fridays, from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
- Temporary until April 30, 2027 (with possibility of extension)

Getting an Interview–you will be considered if you have:
Master’s degree in counselling or related field
Registered with professional regulatory body such as the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors or the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association
Training in counselling
At least 1 year experience providing trauma counselling.
The Job Requires you to have:
Excellent verbal, written, and active listening skills able to communicate effectively and respectfully with people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences.
Strong crisis de-escalation and conflict resolution skills.
Knowledge of oppression and the feminist lens of violence against women.
Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills able to prioritize competing priorities.
Strong documentation skills, able to produce accurate and factual case notes in a timely manner.
This position requires in person service.
A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is a condition of employment.
