Job Summary

The Gift Wrap Fundraiser Coordinator will provide leadership to this major fundraising initiative by working together with other Archway colleagues on recruiting, training, scheduling, and supervising volunteers and overseeing the daily operations of the gift wrap booth at Sevenoaks Shopping Centre.  This includes cash handling, customer service, and handling logistical and administrative functions.  This position will work closely with both the Sevenoaks Shopping Centre staff and the Community Connections Supervisor at Archway.

Your Role:

Archway’s Gift Wrap Fundraiser Coordinator for Archway’s Fundraising Initiative contributes by:

  • Managing a user-friendly scheduling system for volunteers and ensuring that the booth is adequately staffed during open hours.
  • Proactively resolving customer issues to ensure a satisfactory outcome. 
  • Practicing secure cash handling procedures and ensuring the security of cash and credit card information, while maintaining accurate record keeping.
  • Representing the face of Archway to the public and giving information on programs.

This position is a great fit for someone who is highly organized and a people-person, and is adept in handling cash and credit cards and keeping secure transactions!

Our Offer

  • Wage: $22.50 per hour.
  • 25 to 35 hours per week, including evenings and weekends to accommodate store mall hours.
  • Temporary from November 25, 2024 to December 24, 2024.

Getting an Interview–you will be considered if you have:

  • Minimum of high school diploma. 
  • Customer service experience including handling cash and credit card transactions. 
  • Experience leading a team, delegating work, and supervising performance and attendance.
  • Experience working with newcomers to Canada. 
  • Experience working with volunteers a strong asset.
  • Fundraising experience a strong asset. 

The Job Requires you to have::

  • Ability to work with newcomers to Canada.
  • Strong verbal, written, and active listening communication skills; able to communicate clearly and respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and varying levels of English.
  • Ability to navigate challenging conversations, and deal with crisis and conflict situations as they arise.
  • Ability to de-escalate is a strong asset.
  • Good problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to be flexible to address changing shift schedules from volunteers.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Valid First Aid/CPR certification an asset.
  • Valid BC driver’s license an asset.
  • Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training an asset.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Records Check is a condition of employment.
