Job Summary

The People and Culture Generalist (P&C) works as part of the People and Culture Team to develop, build, and implement HR programs and initiatives. The People and Culture Generalist will be primarily responsible for supporting recruitment and onboarding processes, and provide supplementary support as needed to the disability management program, the volunteer management program, training, and administrative processes that support the P&C Team. The Generalist, People & Culture will provide back-up support for P&C Team members as needed. The Generalist, People & Culture will also be responsible for developing new People and Culture processes and other projects as needed. This position requires a high degree of tact, discretion, confidentiality, attention to detail, and capacity to learn and manage several portfolios simultaneously.

Your Role:

Archway’s People & Culture Generalist with the People and Culture program contributes by:

  • Assisting with recruitment activities including developing job descriptions, preparing job postings, creating offer letters, preparing and sending out onboarding packages, preparing amendment letters, ensuring required documentation is received and uploaded to employee files.
  • Working with online platforms in the recruitment and onboarding of new hires.
  • Learning the volunteer management processes for volunteers across the agency and acting as a back-up for the volunteer management role, as needed.
  • Learning the training system’s flow and administrative processes in managing the training portfolio, setting up training and responding to inquiries regarding training and acting as a back-up for the training coordinator role.
  • Learning the disability management processes for employees on leave and acting as a back-up in the disability management role, as needed.
  • Participating in general People & Culture work activities and projects.

This position is a great fit for someone who has exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills with an interest in learning different areas of Human Resources within a dynamic and complex agency.

Our Offer

    • Wage: $26.00 to $27.50 per hour.
    • A permanent, full-time position at 35 hours per week, availability Mondays to Fridays, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening and weekend work.

    Getting an Interview–you will be considered if you have:

    • Degree or diploma with a focus on Human Resources or a related field.
    • CPHR Candidate or Designation preferred.
    • Generalist experience in Human Resources.
    • Experience in recruitment, selection, and onboarding.
    • Experience in using online recruitment and onboarding platforms.
    • Experience in disability management, occupational health and safety and rehabilitation is an asset.
    • Experience in coordinating training is an asset.
    • Experience in volunteer management is an asset.

    The Job Requires you to have:

    • Strong written, verbal and active listening skills; ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with a variety of people.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills and switch-task ability.
    • Exceptional attention to detail.
    • This position has extended periods of screen/keyboard use.
    • Ability to use online platforms and databases in the recruitment, selection and onboarding of new hires, and extract data for preparing reports.
    • A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is a condition of employment.
