Job Summary

The Supervisor for the Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP), oversees all staff and services for ISP to help immigrants and refugees adapt to Abbotsford, and to the Fraser Valley.  The Supervisor provides guidance, direction and support to staff.  In addition, the Supervisor works with the team to provide settlement services and to identify gaps in service delivery and prepares reports on findings.  The Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership, supervision, and delegation to the team to ensure program deliverables are met and that the program operates in compliance with established policies and procedures.

Your Role:

Archway’s Supervisor with the Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) contributes by:

• Providing a leadership role to the ISP staff in the development and delivery of the Program to clients.
• Ensuring all contract deliverables are met by the deadline dates.
• Overseeing program services to ensure services provided align with program objectives.
• Facilitating communication between systems, services, and clients with language and cultural barriers.
• Participating in Advisory Committees (IRCC/BCNSP) to represent ISP and the Agency.
• Attending community-based activities for networking purposes; promoting the program, recruiting clients, and building relationships with community partners.
• Ensuring outcome-based quarterly and annual reports to track progress on deliverables and timelines.
• Working closely with staff to identify gaps in service, preparing a report on findings, and discussing with the Associate Director ways to address gaps.
• Managing and updating the program budget, ensuring appropriate allocation of funds to meet program deliverables and funder requirements.

Our Offer

• Wage: $32.00 to $34.00 per hour
• A part-time position at 24 hours per week, availability Mondays to Fridays, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Getting an Interview–you will be considered if you have:

• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a Human or Social Services or related field, OR a combination of education, training, and/or experience.
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License and a satisfactory driver’s record.
• Experience with settlement needs and issues experienced by multi-barrier immigrants and refugees.
• Experience in program coordination.
• Experience in supervision and leading a team.
• Experience in networking, building relationships and collaborating with multiple community partners.
• Experience in managing a budget.
• Ability to speak an additional language an asset.

The Job Requires you to have:

• Knowledge of community-based programs and related systems that support newcomers to Canada.
• Knowledge of settlement needs and issues faced by vulnerable populations, particularly for immigrants and refugees.
• Strong cross-cultural sensitivity and skills.
• Budgeting skills; ability to manage a program budge efficiently.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to balance and manage competing projects and priorities taking into consideration changing conditions and deadlines.
• Computer competency skills; ability to use Windows Microsoft Office 365.
• Demonstrated crisis intervention skills and the ability to de-escalate.
• Skills in managing performance, providing feedback, coaching, and setting goals.
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
