Job Summary
The South Asian Seniors Outreach Support Worker/Community Connector supports South Asian adults who are interested in participating in the Mobile Day Program for Older Adults. The position works with adults, 65 +, who have care needs that can be managed in the day program environment. This position is responsible for proactive and consistent contact with the clients, planning and delivering group and one-on-one activities, and maintaining client information. The position also involves participating in meetings and committees to support and promote the Program.

Your Role:
Archway’s South Asian Seniors Outreach Support Worker/Community Connector with the South Asian Day Program for Older Adults contributes by:
- Promoting and supporting the program within the community and recruiting potential clients to the program.
- Connecting with clients via phone or video to set up appointments in-person or virtually.
- Engaging and motivating clients to participate in recreation activities.
- Connecting clients to community programs, resources and activities.
- Arranging for session space as well as meals and/or coffee breaks.
- Setting up and ensuring space is clean before and after sessions.
- Participating on committees and at meetings to support and promote the program.
This position is a great fit for someone who is knowledgeable of the South Asian community in Abbotsford, has lived experience, and has good networking and relationship building skills.
Our Offer
- Wage: $23.00 per hour
- A part-time position at 12 hours per week, availability Mondays to Fridays, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Temporary until March 31, 2026.

Getting an Interview–you will be considered if you have:
- Degree or diploma in the health care or human services field, OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a satisfactory driver’s abstract.
- Valid First Aid certification with CPR/AED Level C.
- Experience working with older adults of South Asian background.
- Lived experience within the South Asian community.
- Experience facilitating group activities and discussions.
The Job Requires you to have:
- Fluency in English, Punjabi, and Hindi.
- Knowledge of the Abbotsford area, and relevant community resources.
- Strong planning, organizational and time management skills; able to balance and manage competing projects and priorities.
- Strong skills with Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to use virtual meeting platforms including Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
- Skills in communicating and presenting information to seniors in the South Asian community in a clear, concise, and effective way for the purposes of facilitating groups, discussions, and networking.
- Good networking and relationship building skills; able to build rapport and establish trust.
- Good cross-cultural competency; able to work effectively with the South Asian community, particular older adults of South Asian background.
- Ability for direct in-person contact with on-site staff and clients; adherence to health and safety protocols is required.
- Ability to interact with people in challenging situations.
- The use of a personal vehicle may be required for program-related driving, including driving clients; must be able to be insured according to Archway’s transportation policy.
- A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is a condition of employment.
