The 2018 holiday season was a testament to the kindness of so many people in our community. Individuals and businesses rallied around our numerous programs and fundraising initiatives and demonstrated once again why Abbotsford is known as the most generous city in Canada.
In particular, we would like to recognize Sevenoaks Shopping Centre and their patrons for using our gift wrapping booth in the mall, the Prospera staff and clients who generously contributed so many outstanding gifts to the 7th annual Youth Angel Tree for our Youth Resource Centre (YRC), those who donated and helped with the Fraser Valley Auto Mall’s 12th annual Food Drive and the individuals and businesses who supported Toys for Tots during the 50th anniversary of the Christmas Bureau.
We are very grateful to the team at Fusion Hair Design and their clients for donating fabulous gifts to YRC families, to Greek Islands Restaurants for their financial support of YRC and to the Abbotsford Lions Club for their generous donation. We also appreciate Don Gutrath Photography for providing his services to take memorable photos at the YRC Christmas party and the initiative shown by the Rick Hansen Secondary School junior boys’ basketball team, who worked together to sponsor a family through the Christmas Bureau.
In addition, there are many more community-minded organizations, faith groups, businesses and individuals who offered considerable support for our programs during the holidays. Thank you to everyone who gave time, money or gifts to help members of our community in need. Your contributions help us build a better Abbotsford, and on behalf of our staff and clients, thank you!
