Archway’s Interpretation and Translation Services (ITS) recently launched a new on-demand video and audio remote interpreting service.

“This service allows organizations to offer inclusive and accessible interpreting services to clients, no matter what language they speak,” said Ivona Kado, the ITS program manager.

With Canada becoming increasing diverse, Kado encourages organizations to consider utilizing interpretating services to help attract new clients who may not feel comfortable conversing in English.

Virtual remote interpreting is already used in health care settings and Archway’s service is now available to anyone who signs up for a free account.

Clients can be connected to trained interpreters over a video or phone call in more than 200 languages within seconds.

Users only pay for the minutes used and on average these conversations only require minutes to establish accurate communication.

“Organizations sometimes rely on translation apps or staff who may speak a second language; however, accurate interpretating is a specialized skill and we’ve often heard of confusion, mistakes and frustration when interpretation isn’t available,” said Kado.

ITS has been providing interpreting and translating services for 30 years and by 1998 implemented the first region-wide, comprehensive language service services to meet the needs of the Fraser Valley Health Region. They pioneered an innovative, centralized approach that has been replicated province-wide.

Organizations or businesses who want to learn more can visit its-acs.com and those who sign up before the end of June will qualify for a bonus offer.

“This service allows organizations to offer inclusive and accessible interpreting services to clients, no matter what language they speak.”
