Nominations are now being accepted for the annual Community Builders’ Awards organized by Archway Community Services.

The awards honour outstanding individuals and organizations who have demonstrated a long-term commitment to making the community a better place in which to live, work and play. The Emerging Community Builders category recognizes those who may be younger, new to the Fraser Valley or have recently started giving back.

“Our community wouldn’t be the same without these individuals and organizations who selflessly, passionately and collaboratively make a difference,” said Pamela Chatry, chair of the awards committee and Archway board member.

The event will be held on November 7th at the Matsqui Auditorium with tickets available closer to the date.

The Community Builders’ Awards were established in 2006 by the Archway Board of Directors to honour and acknowledge individuals and organizations connected to the organization.

In 2023, Gary McCaskill, James Clifford, the Khalsa Diwan Society and Sevenoaks Alliance Church were recognized for their contributions to Archway and the larger community. Joie Ford and Chantel Funk + Co were the first recipients of the new Emerging Community Builders’ Award.

At the 2023 event, one of the recipients, Joie Ford, shared her motivation for supporting local youth, “I believe in giving back to your community. I believe in showing up for the people that you care about, and that’s even people you don’t even know.”

The deadline for nominations is September 15th, 2024. To submit a nomination and see sponsorship opportunities, please visit Archway.ca/CBA.
