2025 Community Builders’ Awards Recipients
Nominations are now being accepted for the annual Archway Community Builders’ Awards presented by FortisBC.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the awards celebration, commemorating two decades of recognizing exceptional individuals and organizations whose contributions help make Abbotsford a stronger, more vibrant, and welcoming place for everyone.
“Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Community Builders’ Awards is an opportunity to reflect on the incredible people and organizations who have helped shape our community over the past two decades,” said Pamela Chatry, chair of the awards committee and Archway Community Services Board Vice President.
“As part of our commitment to the communities we serve, FortisBC is proud to support the Community Builders’ Awards and recognize the individuals, organizations and businesses making a meaningful difference in Abbotsford,” said Kim Halowski, community relations manager at FortisBC. “Congratulations to Archway on 20 years of celebrating those whose leadership, service and generosity help strengthen our community.”
The awards honour outstanding individuals and organizations who have demonstrated a long-term commitment to making the community a better place in which to live, work, and play. The Emerging Community Builders category recognizes those who may be younger, new to the Fraser Valley or have recently started giving back.
This year’s awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at Matsqui Centennial Auditorium, with tickets becoming available closer to the event date.
“We know there are countless individuals, businesses, and organizations making a meaningful difference every day, and we encourage everyone to submit a nomination to ensure those they see making an impact are recognized and celebrated,” shared Cambree Lovesy, co-chair of the awards committee and Archway Board Member.
The Community Builders’ Awards were created in 2006 by the Archway Board of Directors to honor and acknowledge individuals who have made a significant contribution to not only Archway Community Services but to the community at large. Since then, the program has grown to include individuals, organizations, and for-profit companies.
The 2025 honourees included Angel Farquhar, Patricia O’Connor, Vitalus Nutrition Inc., and the Abbotsford Restorative Justice and Advocacy Association for their outstanding contributions to the community. Dr. Amarjot Singh and Jastinder Bhandal received the Emerging Community Builders Award. Fraserway RV was recognized with the inaugural Community Builders’ Award of Excellence for their exceptional partnership with Archway through fundraising, sponsorship, and ongoing support of local well-being.
