Nominations are now open for the 22nd Fraser Valley Cultural Diversity Awards.
Since 2003, community members have nominated organizations and leaders that build inclusive and diverse communities in Abbotsford, Mission, Langley, Chilliwack, and Hope.
Archway Community Services presents the event in partnership with the Mission and Chilliwack Community Services as well as the Langley New Directions English Language School.
“There is a lot of divisiveness and intolerance in our world, but events like this prove that we can use diversity as a uniting force,” shared Abbotsford Mayor, Ross Siemens in his welcome speech at last year’s event.
Past winners have been businesses, programs, initiatives, schools and leaders that work towards building an inclusive community, providing their clients and customers with accessible environments, and having workforces reflective of their community. Individuals are eligible for the Champion of Diversity award or the Youth Champion of Diversity award.
The nomination categories are: Effective Human Resources Strategies, Innovative Initiative, Inclusive Environment, Marketing, and Champion of Diversity (youth and adult).
Nominations can be submitted online at DiversityAwards.ca. For any questions regarding awards or nominations please contact Sarah Bolton at cba@archway.ca.
