Abbotsford Mission Recycling
Processes curbside recycling and drop-off recyclablesAbbotsford Mission Recycling Program
Archway employees hand-sort all curbside recyclables into different types of materials. Once sorted, the recyclables are either baled or loaded loose into shipping containers and sent to local markets for processing.
Community Education
The Recycling Program offers an extensive public awareness campaign that includes both school and community education.
Onsite workshops are conducted in the Education Centre, constructed from two 45-foot shipping containers, and in the Compost Demonstration Garden, which was built in partnership with the Fraser Valley Regional District.
The Recycling Education Program also organizes and attends many community events like Agrifair, the Berry Festival, and Environmental Mind Grind to promote both recycling and environmental awareness.
Eyeglass Recycling
The Abbotsford Mission Recycling Program collects old and unscratched eyeglasses for re-use as part of the Third World Eye Care Society (TWECS). TWECS collects eyeglasses and distributes them in conjunction with eye exams given by properly trained volunteers to individuals in developing countries. Drop off your old eyeglasses at your local recycling depot or email Abbotsford Mission Recycling to learn more.
