The Maintenance Worker is responsible to and under the direction of the Associate Director of Facilities and provides general building maintenance at Archway-owned buildings.
Your Role:
Archway’s Maintenance Worker with Facilities contributes by:
- Ensuring Archway-owned buildings are safe and welcoming for staff, clients, and community members.
- Providing general building maintenance, including, but not limited to, basic electrical work, painting and minor renovations, building and moving furniture, and snow removal.
- Building and moving furniture and equipment as required.
- Hanging pictures, signage etc., as required.
- Maintaining all tables, chairs and equipment – ensuring all is returned to proper destinations.
- Conducting painting and minor renovations.
- Removing snow from all walks and entrance ways and implementing ice melt applications.
- Running errands and picks up supplies as requested by the Associate Director of Facilities.
- Assisting in capital planning of Archway-owned buildings.
- Assisting with budgeting.
This position is a great fit for someone who is flexible and skilled with general building maintenance.

Getting an Interview–you will be considered if you have:
- At least 2 years’ experience working in a building maintenance position.
- Building Service Workers certificate an asset.
The Job Requires you to have:
- Good verbal communication and listening skills; able to communicate effectively and respectfully with people from a variety of backgrounds.
- Strong working knowledge of standard custodial/maintenance practices, methods, materials, tools and equipment used in providing custodian and maintenance services.
- Strong working knowledge, skill, manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude in the use of tools (hand and power) and repair equipment common to construction and maintenance such as, but not limited to, sweeping, blowing, raking, weed pulling and lifting heavy objects.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Able to address all concerns and suggestions in a respectful manner.
- Able to read, understand, and follow instructions safely.
