We are currently seeking volunteers to help support our upcoming Tea & Talk sessions for seniors.
Tea & Talk offers a warm and welcoming environment where seniors can enjoy meaningful conversation and social connection over tea, coffee, and dessert.
These sessions are a part of Archway’s Social Prescribing program which connects older adults in the Abbotsford area to a wide range of community-based services combined with follow-up support.
“These sessions are more than just refreshments. They are about cultivating a space where seniors feel seen, heard, and connected,” said Trina Enns, a Community Connector for the Social Prescribing program.
The program is currently looking for friendly and dependable volunteers to help with a variety of tasks including set up and take down, serving refreshments, engaging with seniors, clearing and washing dishes, tidying the space, and supporting staff as needed.
There is also a need for volunteer drivers to help safely transport seniors to and from the sessions.
Volunteers are asked to commit 2–4 hours per month, making it a small but meaningful way to give back to the community.
Those interested in volunteering can visit Archway.ca/volunteer to learn more and submit an application.
