Starfish Pack
Combatting hunger over weekends by providing food to school-aged children.Starfish Pack
Archway’s Starfish Pack program started in 2013 in response to the concerns of a heart broken Abbotsford teacher upon realizing that her students were coming to class on Monday without having eaten over the weekends. These children were not only hungry, they were not fuelled for learning and to reach their full potential.
Today, the Starfish Pack program is made possible by the generosity of our community. Each week, volunteers sort, assemble, and deliver over 700 Starfish packs full of nutritious, kid-friendly foods to 40 Abbotsford schools. Starfish Packs contain an assortment of quality produce, bread, grains, protein and snacks to provide a student with at least six meals and two snacks for a standard two day weekend.
