Assists in academic achievement, personal development, and recreation

Youth Education Support (YES)

Youth are supported in maintaining or transitioning back into school with a comprehensive program that assists in academic achievement, personal development, and recreation as well as developing family and community supports.

Youth Education Support is a program of our Youth Resource Centre (YRC), which is a one-stop shop for youth and their families who want a helping hand to connect with each other and/or the community.

Who We Help

  • Youth ages 12 to 18 in Abbotsford School District who don’t already have other supports in place
  • The current focus is on youth in middle school and supporting them in transitioning into high school

To Access Youth Education Support

  • Youth need a referral to the Youth Resource Centre and it’s best to go through the school.
  • Decisions about program admission are made by a committee that consists of representatives from the School District, the Ministry of Children & Family Development, and the Youth Resource Centre. This committee meets monthly.
  • Once a decision is made you will be informed either by the school representative or by the Youth Resource Centre intake worker.
  • There is usually a waitlist for the program.
