Nick Taylor donated $35,000 to Archway Community Services to help keep In It Together, an anti-gang youth program running.

$25,000 of the donation came from the funds raised by the Nick Taylor Charity Classic with another $10,000 coming directly from Nick and Andie Taylor.

“We’re so grateful for the continued generosity of Nick and Andie,” said Archway CEO Rod Santiago. “These funds will allow us to continue providing services to at-risk youth and give them a pathway to avoid or exit criminal or gang activity.”

Government funding for the Archway In It Together program ended on March 30th, 2023. It has remained open with limited services as they await an opportunity to apply for more government funds.

“The generosity of the Taylors, the Abbotsford Canucks and United Way BC, and other private donors have helped keep this program running so that a reduced crew of staff can continue to walk alongside some of our community’s most vulnerable youth and their families,” said Santiago.

Nick Taylor grew up playing golf in Abbotsford and turned professional in 2010. In June, he became the first Canadian to win the RBC Canadian Open since 1954.

“I’ve been fortunate to have the support of many mentors while growing up in Abbotsford and am honoured I can give back to help other youth have access to supportive adults in their life,” said Taylor.

The 2023 Nick Taylor Charity Classic raised more than $275,000 which was donated to Jumpstart, Archway Community Services, Chilliwack Community Services, the McMorris Foundation, junior golf tournaments and student endowment scholarships at UFV.

Now in its seventh year, the tournament, presented by Algra Bros, has raised more than $1 million for local causes. Previous donations from the tournament have supported Archway’s Community Action Fund and Foundry Abbotsford.
