Archway is hosting a welcome ceremony to celebrate the many families that have come from all over the globe to call Abbotsford home. 

This special event features a community service fair, greetings from local officials, a keynote speech and a panel of speakers. It’s a great opportunity to connect with others, learn about local resources, and celebrate the start of a new chapter together over light refreshments.

The Welcome Day Ceremony will be hosted at the Matsqui Centennial Auditorium, 32315 South Fraser Way, Abbotsford.

Official Welcome Ceremony with Keynote Speaker
This year there is going to be a panel with Mayor Ross Siemens, School District Superintendent Nathan Ngieng and APD Chief Constable Colin Watson. Following this, there will be a performance and a keynote address by Tammy Brandsma and Hani Kambal.

Their keynote, When Welcome Comes Full Circle: the welcome we inherit, the welcome we extend, tells the story of how one act of private sponsorship became a legacy of friendship, responsibility, and community. Together, their story invites Abbotsford to reflect on welcome not as charity, but as a relationship that can transform everyone it touches.
